Changing Default Tabs

I created a document in Publisher 2002. I changed the default tabs to .125".
When I reopen the document, all the tabs are at .5" and it messes up all the
formatting. Why doesn't the new default setting of .125 "stick"?, and how
can I fix this? Thank you.

No, it was not from an earlier version of Publisher. I cretaed this document
with Publisher 2002.

Kevin--the same thing just happened to me. I created a new file in Publisher
2003. I copied in a file that was originally tabbed and formatted in Word.
Once the document was in Publisher, I highlighted the entire text box and
changed the tab formatting to .125. It took and appeared to be working fine.
After working on this file until 2:00 a.m., I closed it for the night and
went to bed. Next morning, all of my previous night's work was LOST--all tabs
went back to the original .5 spacing. I then reformatted a small section,
saved the file, closed it, and reopened--still there. I thought everything
was OK. Continued working. Closed the document during lunch hour; returned,
opened document ALL tab formatting LOST AGAIN--even the ones that had been
saved and appeared to be OK earlier. They simply would NOT hold. I had to
use a space bar and space a table that took me hours and, of course, left me
with a less than satisfactory final product as the columns are not straight
when you use spaces instead of tabs. Is there a bug in the software? Sue

If you would paste the text from Word as unformatted, you probably would not
have had this issue.
