changing email accounts

April

I am taking over our home PC's Outlook. My husband was using it previously.
I have selected Tools>Email accounts>View or Change Existing E-mail
Accounts>Change and have updated all of my info. For some reason, his email
continues to be loaded into Outlook. Any suggestions as to what I could be
doing incorrectly?

TIA,
April

You haven't changed enough of the information in the account if you're still
accessing his mailbox. In particular, the username and password should be
different for a different mailbox.

I have changed everything, even deleted his account and put all of my info in
there. It has my name, user id, password, etc. But when I do a test email
or test connection (can't remember what it's called), it is unsuccessful --
can't recognize POP3 and SMTP servers. The servers haven't changed (we both
have AT&T email accounts) and I even called AT&T to re-verify them.

What is the exact text of the errors?

I didn't write down the exact verbiage, but it was something to the effect of
the Port and SSL settings were not recognized and there was no response from
the server. After double checking the settings, which were correct, and
talking with our email carrier (different from our ISP), I gave up. I just
deleted the whole Outlook program, reinstalled it and started from scratch.
I'm not receiving email on Outlook, but it doesn't matter, because my PDA
still receives my AT&T email. I am just using Outlook for phone, calendar
and contacts.

So frustrating, but I do appreciate your willingness to help me out.

Thanks again,
April

How funny... Just as I hit send for my last reply, I go to check Outlook
and there is all my AT&T emails. It's working 100% after all! Crazy.

Thanks again
