Changing Name Configuration

All of my contacts are stored listing the person's last
name first...then their first name. Is there a way that
I can change all of my contacts so that their first name
appears first? I know how to have NEW contacts
configured that way...but can't find a way to do it
globally for existing contacts, short of changing them
individually.

You forgot to mention which view you want sorted that way.
Any view you want to sort must contain the field by which you want to sort.
