Changing point of viewing on open

Hello,
When we open project in Gantt chart view it opens to a day in a previous
month. How can we change it so that it always opens viewing the current
date?

Hi LWhite,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Project will open at the same point as when it was last saved, there is no
built in switch. However, I'm sure someone can create and auto-open macro
to do just that - not my forte.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

That sounds great but that is not what is happening. One person uses
project. I have personally watched them open the project, scroll over to the
correct day and then save. The project then is closed and re-opened. It is
opening to a date in May. We are selecting currently open projects and are
clicking on tasks that are being worked on tomorrow. Any ideas why it is not
opening correctly?

Just a shot in the dark here, but try going into print preview and
selecting a date range that begins around the time you want to see. If
you then cancel out of the preview, it may have shifted the viewing
space on the chart over.

Hi there, I am also trying to open at todays date, print preview and then
save doesn't work for me either.

I find it hard to believe this is not an option (without a macro) somewhere
- surely people must have been wanting to do this ever since Project first
came into existence??!! :)

Anyone else any ideas please?
