Changing slide layout garbled up bulleted text. A bug?

I chose "title and 2-column text" and typed in one bulleted item for each
column. Then I applied "title, text and 2 content." The bulleted items
remained in place i.e. no change. Now, when I changed to "title, 2 content
and text," the bulleted item on the left was moved to the right and
overlapped with the bulleted item on the right. I use V. 2003. Is it just
me having this problem?

Appreciate any input.

When you have a show running, please press your Windows key to bring up the
task bar.

What are the names of the tasks listed on the task bar?

That exactly what should happen!

case 2

Powerpoint puts text 1 to left and two placeholders to right - extra text
box is ignored

case 3

placeholders to left / text one to right and extra text ignored ie still
right under the first text

Bill,

Thank you for responding. The problem occurred while I was creating the
slide(s). I have only been using PPT for a couple of weeks. So, I am not
too sure about your instruction. I didn't really have a slide show to run
but just one "bad" slide. Anyway, I did the following:-

(1) Displayed the bad slide on the screen (normal view)
(2) Pressed F5
(3) Pressed Ctrl-T
(4) Task bar showed Microsoft PowerPoint and PowerPoint Slide Show

Did I do it right?

I am curious if you have the same problem when you duplicate all the steps
listed in my first post.

Look forward to your reply. By the way, I like your(?) dog. Can't tell
what breed though.

John,

I didn't type anything to text 1 of either layouts. I only had the left
bullet and the right bullet from the first slide. They overlapped each other
under case 3.

case 2 - Don't understand why the right bullet from case 1 didn't get moved
to the left. In case 3, the left bullet was moved to the right.

case 3 - It wasn't text 1 laying on top of the right bullet (extra text
box). It was left bullet on top of right bullet.

This is not really important and I was just curious if there was a problem
with my system.

Thanks for your time.

I don't remember what happens specifically in which of your cases, but since
you're just wondering in general... :)

It's really just got to do with how many text placeholders are on the chosen
slide layout and where they're positioned on the slide. No problems with
your system -- at least not in this area!
