Changing SQL Passwords for Project Server

C

Cameron McShane

I have just taken over the administration of a Project Server 2003
server. I am in the process of migrating the server to a new Windows
2003 server. Unforuntately, the person that installed it originally
cannot recall the passwords used for the SQL connections using the
following accounts - MSProjectServerUser & MSProjectUser. During the
install on the new server when using the existing databases, these
passwords are required. Is there a way to retrieve or change these
passwords by directly manipulating the database tables?

If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Use the EditSite tool in conjunction with SQL Enterprise Manager to
change the passwords stored by EPM and the passwords themselves,
respectively.

I have exactly the same problem as I had to recreate the database environment
and somehow the passwords were not transferred correctly.

What is this EditSite tool? Can someone please explain?
