Chart pattern fills in Publisher 2007

In creating an Excel Chart object directly in Publisher 2007, I'm unable to
get pattern fills (for the bars in a bar chart, for example) despite the fact
that I do have the Pattern Fill add-in for Excel 2007, and that it works in
Excel. Within Publisher, I do get a misleading Pattern Fill option in the
toolbar (under Chart Tools Layout and/or Format), but when I try to use it, I
receive the error message: "Run-Time Error '-2147024891 (80070005)': Access
Denied. You do not have enough privileges to complete this operation." As
part of this error message, there is a button for 'debug', but this takes me
to a Visual Basic code that I don't know how to properly modify (if it's
possible at all).

If you put "Run-Time Error '-2147024891 (80070005)' into a search engine you
will get all sorts of explanations for your error, maybe a solution or two.

According to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942379 this error appears when you
try to ungroup objects in PowerPoint. This was corrected in the first Office
2007 service pack. It could be related to what you are trying to do also.
