Hmm... this happens frequently in WinXL:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;182500

It also happens occasionally in MacXLv.X, and I've made these
suggestions, but never had anyone tell me if they worked:

First, try repairing disk permissions - if you don't know how, see

http://www.mcgimpsey.com/macoffice/excel/troubleshooting.html

Next, if it's installed, try removing the Acrobat PDF Maker plug-in from
the Microsoft Office X:Office:Startup:Excel folder. You can permanently
remove it by using the technique here:

http://www.mcgimpsey.com/macoffice/office/pdftoolbar.html

If that doesn't work, look for any other files in that folder and move
any that you find. Restart to confirm that they are the cause. If so,
move them back one at a time until you find the offending file.

It's also possible that you have an add-in loaded (Tools/Add-ins) that
is corrupted.

I know of three potential solutions for this 2 are according to a thread
in the archives of this list from march 2004. The third is something i
figured out today on a hunch, when one of my users was having the same
problem. 1 didn't work for me and i didn't want to go to the extremety
of 2 and i knew about the trick for endnote & network users.

1. Repair Permsions from the hard Disk (worked for some)
2. removing the Acrobat PDF Maker plug-in from the Microsoft Office
X:Office:Startup:Excel folder
3. If your home directory is on a network drive/Not on a local Hard disk
(our case home is NFS mounted file share) have a local user run and quit
word. Copy there ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Carbon Registration
Database into your home directory in the same location (~ = home
directory)

To reach the sender Directly remove _notit from the senders address.
