Clearing Send/Receive fault from outlook "memory"

I have a cable modem connection to the internet and at
some times throughout the day the connection is getting
lost. During these times when the internet connection is
lost outlook may try to send/receive and fault out. Once
the connection is re-established to the internet and I
try to do a manually request for send/receive I get the
fail. The only way I can get outlook to forget about the
past faults is to restart my computer.

Help.
