Clip Art only prints when it is "in line with text." Why?

Using XP, I can only get graphics to PRINT when they are formatted in line
with text (not any other layout.) If I try it in another layout, it will
show up on my screen, but will not print. Please help!

On the Print tab of Tools | Options, check the box for "Drawing objects."

Is this in a new blank document or only in certain documents?
