Clip art placement

I have recently upgraded from Word 98 to the most recent version of Word. In
the old version I could take clip art pictures I cut from, say, MS Paint and
placed the clip in a word document anywhere I wanted, top, bottom, left or
right and move them around, etc. Now I am finding that if I paste in a
picture it positions itself in the upper left corner like it was text. How
do I get the image to stick where I want it to?

Thanks Amy

It *is* text, in effect. In recent versions of Word, the default
paste/insert format is In Line With Text. You need to select the clip art,
which will display the Drawing toolbar. Click on the Text Wrapping button on
the toolbar (dog icon) to display the menu and choose some other wrapping
style. Then you'll be able to place your pictures freely.
