Clip feature problems

I have a tablet and use my clip feature frequently. My clip feature is no
longer working. When I clip OneNote "closes" like it has in the past, but
where OneNote was open on the screen an opaque white box remains. If I clip
into that area I get "white-box" in my pic imported into OneNote. How do I
get OneNote completely out of the way? Let me say this is not the translucent
white that covers the screen to let you know the clipping feature is on. This
is opaque, white and only the part of the screen that was covered by the
OneNote program image.
