clipart gallery won't load

This always worked properly before, now it doesn't! I'm using word 2001 for
Mac. Normally I just select Insert/Picture/Clipart and the Gallery opens
allowing one to select an image. I have re-installed twice to no avail.
Tried with base extensions...No Go. The program kind of blinks a little like
it is going to load but nothing happens. The pictures are all there in the
clip art folder. Any ideas? I've got 30000k available to word as the
preferred size. I'm baffled and would greatly appreciate any ideas.

Thank You for responding Beth.

I tried everything you suggested and still no gallery. I can add some new
information though. If I use the OS 9.2.2 base extension set it does work
fine. My guess is that I have an extension conflict. I will probably have to
try and isolate the offending extension. I will update with results so
others can view. Does this information lead you in the same direction?

Wow! What a pain that was! I finally isolated my offending extension. It's
a benign little extension: A shared library called Cinstall. Now everything
seems to be working fine. Maybe I should just say that the clip art gallery
now functions as it used to. I have no idea what installer placed that
extension in my system.

Beth thank you for your helpful suggestions.

Best Regards,

Dave
