Clipboard and delete

when I highlight a word or line and hit the delete key it deletes it from the
screen. When I try to paste information from the clipboard the deleted
information has replaced whatever I had in the clipboard! is there a fix for
this?

The other problem is when highlighting and deleting information it always
asks me if I am sure I want to delete and I have to hit "Y" to continue...can
this be turned off?

Unless you are inadvertently pressing Shift along with Delete, it sounds to
me as if the Delete key has been assigned as a keyboard shortcut for
EditCut. Open Tools | Customize, click on Keyboard..., find EditCut, and
remove the key assignment.

For the other problem, clear the check boxes for both the WordPerfect
options on the General tab of Tools | Options.

Sounds like you have some WordPerfect settings turned on. For the second one,
go to Tools->Options, General tab and uncheck "Navigation keys for
WordPerfect Users". Unchecking this will stop the "Delete Block No (Yes)".

Not sure about the first problem, but probably similar feature is turned on.

If you can't get it, what version of Word are you using?
