Clustered Column

Please can anyone help me, when making a chart slide
using "Clustered Column" the columns appear joined
together each a different colour but the same colours as
the legend. I need to have the columns apart, I can do
this by changing to "Series in Rows" in "Data" but all
the columns are the same colour even though the Legend
shows different colours. I know I can change the colour
of each column separately, but is there a better way? Or
am I going about it the wrong way.

Right-click on one of the columns (Data series), select "Format data
series". Click the "Options" TAB and change the "Overlap" from "0" to
something negative (clicking down arrow). Does this get you the results you
want?
