Color coding

I work in the construction industry
I have multiple projects going on at any one time that show projects in one
of 3 phases: Design/Construction/Closeout.
I want to be able to show the different phases as different colors. How do
I do this?
I would like to be able to do this without having to roll up the
information. Example have 5 dates for the project: start, design complete,
install start, install complete, project closeout.
I am using MSProj 2000.

You can highlight all the tasks you want in a different colour and use
Format>font and then pick one
