column showing no. days between base start and new start date

I have baselined my project plan and would now like to view the number of
days my new start/finish dates have changed from the base start/finish dates.
So I'm hoping to get a column which shows whether the new dates are ahead or
behind the base dates (like +3d or -2w, etc.)

Hi Trevor,
I didn't use your recommendation in its entirety because I could insert a
new column with "Start Variance" to meet my original request!
So thanks for introducing me to the field :)
