combining paragraphs to fit margins that I set. Help!

I would like to combine my paragraphs in Word so that they will meet my page
margin specifications. If I set margins to 1 inch top/bottom and 1 inch
left/right I want paragraph lines combined/wrapped to meet those margins.
How do I do it?

Here are two example paragraphs. I like to separate my paragraphs by using
double spacing between them, like writing a "block" styled business letter.
Would be nice too if I could set an option so Word would know that each chunk
between a double space is a separate paragraph.

Format the style that you are using for the paragraphs so that it has 12 pts
space after it.

Every time you press enter in Word a new paragraph is created. If you do
not want to create a new paragraph, don't press enter.

Word is a lot more than a typewriter on which is was necessary to use the
carriage return when you got to the end of the line. With Word all you have
to do is keep typing until you reach the end of the text that you want in
the paragraph and then press enter.

Doug: I tried formatting the style from the formatting toolbar, "Normal,"
but it didn't solve my problem. I changed the style Normal to 12 like you
said. Lines still do not wrap to end all the way at one inch from the edge
like I wanted. (I changed the page layout to 1 inch top/bottom and
left/right)

It sounds like you are suggesting that if I want to combine lines to meet
margins, then I will have to manually backspace every single line. Isn't
there a way for Word to do all of that for me? Other people use shorter line
margins when they write emails, and I'm trying to figure out a way to get
more text on a page to save a few trees.

This answers my question. Thanks for the help.

I don't know if anyone will be reading this who can actually implement an
improvement, but anyway, I hope that someday there will be some "wizard" or
automatic way to accomplish this task below. My parents are the next
generation up, and teaching them how to do all of this will be difficult.
Yet, being able to combine information to get more on a page (more bang from
a printer) is something that just about everyone could use. We are
constantly arguing about the cost of a new printer cartridge. And paper
costs money too, unless you do everything from work!
