combo box stops working

I have created a combo box that finds a record on my form based on the value
I select. It works fine when I first create it, but there are two problems.

1. If I add anything to the row source (like ORDER BY) then it stops working
2. If I close out of Access then reopen the form, the combo box stops working.


Any suggestions.
