Completed Task report

When I run the completed task report setting the period to "Week" it groups
the tasks by their start date. How do I change it so that it groups the
tasks by the week they finished. I am using Project 2003 Standard

Hello Nelson,

In the Custom Reports dialog, there is an Edit... button which gives you
access to a Sort tab. Sort by Finish instead of Start.

hope this helps

I have already tried this. This only sorts the tasks within each group. The
tasks are still grouped by their start date.

Hello Nelson,

As far as I know, you cannot sort the grouping (by weeks) as that is a
grouping and sorting done by the program and as far as I know, you
cannot access that information.

However, by combining the Complete Task filter with a custom group that
groups by Finish Date, and then printing the Task Sheet you may get very
close to what you see in the report

Apply the Summary Table to the Task Sheet view to show the fields from
the Completed Task report. Apply the Completed Tasks filter to remove
the display of any incomplete tasks. Create a custom group, using the
Finish Field as the Group by selection and set the sort order to
Descending. Click the Define Group Interval button and set the interval
to weeks. The view should now be quite close to the Completed Task
report, but sorted and grouped by Finish date.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks Julie

This gives me exactly what I was looking for. It also expands the scope for
other reports that my management team are looking for.
