Hey,

Running Office 2000 on Windows 98 Machine. Emails display fine in the
preview pane, but the computer hangs when I try to open the email. Computer
will also hang when I try to create a new email. Have scanned for viruses.
Have also tried doing a repair, an uninstall and reinstall, and have applied
most recent Office Service Packs. Still have the same problem. Anyone have
any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you using Word as the email editor? What happens if you turn it off?
Wordmail in versions prior to 2002 was pretty bad.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

Hi Milly,

Nope, am not using Word as the editor. Actually my whole computer does not
freeze, just the Outlook program. Another thing I tried was transfering my
..PST file to another machine and it worked fine with the Outlook installed on
that computer, so I know it's not a corrupt PST file. Any other suggestions?
