configure outlook 2000 for IMAP

Hi, my outlook is configured to work with Exchange. Now I want to add an
IMAP internet account, but the only option allowed is POP. how do I get
around this without completely reconfiguring my outlook (leading to problems
with Exchange)? thank you.
