Configure S/MIME on a shared mailbox

I would like to setup an Exchange mailbox to receive encrypted S/MIME
messages and provide permissions to allow multiple individuals to access,
decrypt and read the contents from this shared mailbox. I am able to share
the mailbox and have placed the certificate on the clients but decrytion does
not take place.

Can this be done?

Thank you

As far as I know, that's not how public key encryption works in Outlook.
When someone encrypts mail, they do so using the public key of the digital
certificate of the recipient. Only that specific recipient can decrypt the
message. You can't encrypt a message with that public key that multiple
users can decrypt, or at least that's my understanding.
