Configuring Outlook with ISP?

R

Raven

ok,,I am about to ask some really stupid questions,,,lol...I have been trying
for 3 days to get my outlook express to work. People are telling me to
conifgure for my ISP,,,why?.....I have my own dedicated server that runs LIVE
and its in another state. what does my ISP have to do with the POP3/SMTP
server I have? I have American Online, that I use to get to my remote
desktop- which gets me to my server. My outlook doesnt relay or echo, and
sends 550 errors,,,I have no idea how to find Name SErver info, pop3/smtop
addressess for my AOL. But I know I know nothing, but I dont understand why
my ISP matters...? My ISP isnt powering my server?....HELP

You did get the answer to your issue on your previous thread. No need to
post again.

In layman's terms. You need the AOL info added to your Outlook Express email
set up. You will need to call AOL. Your server is not a dedicated server for
pop3 because if it would be you would not be posting here.
Also this is the wrong group. This is for Office and with Office comes
Outlook NOT Outlook EXPRESS

To get to Outlook express to address your issue (they will say the same)
