Connectors ..don't want them to detach

Powerpoint2003
WindowsXP

User has boxes with connectors. When he moves one of the connectors
diagonally it remains attached to the box. On another box when he moves it
it detaches itself.

What are the rules to the connectors?

Why can't we attach a line to a box and have it stick?

When you move the connector itself, it will detach.
If you move the object being connected, it will not.
So, if you want to move lets say, both the connected object and the
connector, you can select both objects by selecting the first object, then
hold down shift and select the other object. Now, move them and the connector
will not detach.
