Consolidated Resources

I created a shared resources file. Once linked, I expected the drop-down
file in each of my linked projects to link to the shared resources. Instead,
the drop-down in my file shows only those that I originally entered directly
into a file. Did I do something wrong? Is this the way it is supposed to
work? If so, how does this help? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

The pool has to be open as well if not the project file ignores the other
resources in the pool.

I do get a message as I open my project file that asks me to open the pool
file. I respond yes and still am unable to see the shared resources.
Thoughts?

Hi,

After you say yes, does the pool open?
If not, its address in the file may be wrong (have you moved any of the 2
files?)

The pool does open as read only. I am going in task information -- selecting
resources and clicking on the drop-down. I still only get the ones that I
originally entered into the initial file. Thoughts?

Hi ECD,

That ws not the drop-down I understood.
When you go to Gantt Chart, Resource Names Column, the drop-down should show
all resources in the pool.
Also, Resource sheet should show all resources.
Task Usage, whatever you do, only and always shows the resources assigned to
a task. If there's only one resource assigned to a task, clicking the + is
showing only one resource.
This is not meant to be a dropdown of all resources but a detail on the
resources on THAT tasks.
