Contractual windows of time?

M

Murdoch

I have a contract that requires activity to be performed within windows of
time relative to an end in-service date.

These windows are not tasks, in my opinion. I am currently using milestones
to "Start Window" and "End Window."

Does anyone know of a more elegant solution?

ps new to Project by about a week, so go figure...

If understand correctly, you have a situation like this:

Put Gas In the Lawnmower
Mow the Lawn.

Mow the lawn shall be performed in the window 01 JUN 2007 to 15 JUN 2007.
The task will take 2 days. No matter when I gas the mower (even if it is 07
MAY 2007) I cannot start mowing the lawn until 01 JUN 2007 because that is
what the contract says.

If that is the case, double click on the Mow Lawn task and pull the Advanced
Tab.
Under Deadline, set 15 JUN 2007. Under Constraint Type, set "Start No
Earlier Than" and use a Constraint Date of 01 JUN 2007.

Somewhat sarcastic, but I always like to keep it simple. :)
