convert to frames

I am trying to convert a text box to a frame so the text of my document will
flow around the box. The box is a caption for a picture. When I do the
switch, the first sentence of the paragraph appears in the box. How do I
prevent this from happening?

Note that frames aren't required for text wrap; text boxes can have
text wrapped around them, too: On the Format Text Box dialog box,
click the Layout tab, and make your choices.

However, a good reason for using frames instead of text boxes with
captions is that caption numbering is made up of fields, which are
more reliable with frames than with text boxes (perhaps this is why
you are converting the text boxes).

I'm not sure what you mean by your last two sentences. Are you saying
that you want to remove the border around the framed caption? If this
is what you want, first select the frame, and then choose
Format>Borders and Shading. Click the Borders tab. Verify that "Apply
to" is set to "Frame". Under "Setting", click "None", and then click
OK.
