Converting existing Access 2003 to new 2007 format error

I have installed Access 2007 and when I attempt to Convert or Save-as my 2003
format I get the following error: (error 3356) " You attempted to open a
database that is already opend exclusively by user ( ) on maching ( ). Try
again when the database ia available".

This does not make sense to me as I should be able to load a database and
then save it using the Save-as function without having that database closed.
This same message comes up under both senerios (Convert to 2007 format and
the Save-as). What should I do to beable to save or convert my 2003 format
to the new 2007 format to escape this error message? Thank you for your
assistance.

Tim, I've had Office 2007 do some strange things like that. Do a reboot and
try it again.
I'm awaiting for service pack 1 to fix this sort of behavior.

I have experienced similar with some of my 2003 applications. I have not been
able to figure out the difference between those that I could save as 2007 and
those that returned the error. In addition to this problem, I found that some
of my "Find Record" events in combo boxes would not work after conversion. I
replaced these with embeded macros.

Icreating a blank 2007 and importing the objects from 2003 was less fuss.
Here I also had control over the import of menu's and toolbars.

I have experienced the same problems. However, if the database I am
converting has not been split the conversion works fine. I was able to get
around this problem by renaming the data part. WHen you open the databse it
will complain that it can't link. Slect Ok and should convert without
problems. Renaming the data file, opening and converting it worked fine too.
