coping from excel to word

I am trying to copy a page from excel (2003) to word
(2003).
I can copy it fine but the grid lines show up. How can i
do this without the grid lines?

Before copying to Word, turn off the gridlines in Excel by clicking on
Tools | Options | View | uncheck the "Gridlines" box.

Turn off gridlines then copy and Paste Special>Microsoft Excel Worksheet
Object.

A straight copy/paste still shows gridlines even when turned off in Excel.

I have done that and the grid lines do not show up on the
spreadsheet but do show on the word document.

Choose File>Page Setup
Select the Sheet tab, and remove the check mark from Gridlines
Click OK

Then copy to Word

Never would have assumed that Page Setup had anything to do with copying to
Word.

Paste Special as Worksheet Object method always sufficed for my minimal needs.

It may not solve the problem, but floating embedded Excel files use the
worksheet settings, and inline embedded Excel files use the Page Setup
settings (or vice versa <g>).

Yes, a straight copy/paste still shows gridlines on screen in Word, but
the gridlines don't print, which is usually good enough for me. And
yes, paste special as picture or Excel object works too.
