Copy and Paste Contacts from one Category to Another

Is it possible to copy and paste a contact from one category to another?

I tried it and it copied the contact(s) back into their original category.
I'm using OL2003 and was in the category view.

Thanks,

Dennis

What do you mean? What are you trying to do?
Membership in a Category is a property of the Contact. Categories are not
separate groups of Contacts.

Dennis, I also use categories. For one contact, you can check off multiple
categories. For example, when I create a new contact and click the
CATEGORIES button on the bottom right of the screen, I put check marks next
to "Client" and "Family" and "XX organization"...i.e., whatever categories
you desire. You can use the default categories that Microsoft gives you or
delete theirs and create your own.

Russ, Judi,

I have made a "Navy" contact category and have about 50 contacts in it.

I've also made another category "VA-172" which will be a subset of 30+ names
of the 50 names aleady in the Navy category.

Rather than open the 30+ contact cards one by one and check the VA-172
category, is there a way to copy the names when in the "current view by
categories" from the Navy to the VA-172 category?

Hope this helps clear up what I would like to do.

Thanks,

Dennis

Just select all the Contacts you want to add to that category, R click >
Categories... and assign them all at once.
