copy and paste from exel

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Power PC i'm trying to copy graphic elements from exel doc and paste it into adobe illustrator but it doesn't work. any advise?

What graphic element from Excel? What doesn't work? What happens? What
are you REALLY trying to do?

trying to bring charts and graphs that's being created in Exel into Adobe Illustrator in order to create a vector file.

Make sure whatever version of IIly you're using is fully updated. Adobe has
had a problem with pasting content copied from files other than their own.

Are you pasting WMF or EMF?

I've never used Illustrator, but I believe it has problems with one or the
other of those formats, and those are the formats Excel would be using.

Yeah, I suspect so. I doubt if they would go to the expense of converting
Mac: Excel to write PICT or whatever...


WMF or EMF?... On a Mac?
