copy and pasting excel

Hi Folks,
I am trying to copy and paste particular cells from Excel into my PPT file.
When I do this and double click the result, the excel cells are opened for
editing. However, when I do this, there are a lot more cells available for
editing that what I highlighted to be copy and pasted. I think they are
included in my PPT file thereby drastically increasing the size of the PPT
file. Does anyone know how I can get it to just copy and paste what I have
selected? I am using a Windows 2000 machine with Office 2000. Everything has
been updated too. Thanks!
