Copy/Paste Formulas

Hello,

I have formulas I want to paste into the next workbook. The problem i
it changes the formula's rather than leave them how I have them.

How can I copy/paste them without the next workbook changing them?

Select the sheet with the formulas, do edit>replace and replace the equal
sign with for example r= (find what = replace with r=)
Now copy everything, paste it into the new sheet (workbook),
reverse the replace and replace r= with = in both workbooks

I've often done the same work-around that Peo
recommended, but to play it safe I make the string longer
than a single character like his "r" because I may have
an r= sitting somewhere inside a big IF function or
whatever.

Also, sometimes (when the two spreadsheets have the same
structure) you can do Edit > Copy and then go to the new
place--same cell--and do Edit > Copy > Paste Special >
Formula and it will copy the formulas. But if it is off
by a row or column it can mess you up--which is when
Peo's method is good....alternatively, save your original
spreadsheet, resave it in another name, and delete
whatever you don't want to keep.

Peter

That is what I did. Now the problem I am having as posted in the HELP
Sum Function thread :-

I agree with you, it might be better to use something that is very unlikely
to be in a formula like replace = with ^^^^=

I had the exact same issue. I followed Peo's instructions and they worked
great!
Thanx to all.
