Copy & Paste WP Doc

I want to convert a document and when I copy a WordPerfect document and paste
it in Word as unformatted text, all my text in between quotes come out with
an A as the first quote and the end quote comes out as @.

Example: (the "Corporation") changes to (the ACorporation@)

My quotes come out as equal signs. And, I get symbols that look like part
of a box indiscriminately placed in my document.

Does anyone know if there is a way to correct this? Any help, thanks.

Just want to correct what I said regarding my quotes coming out as equal
signs. I mean my apostrophes come out as equal signs.

This happens because the symbols are from the WPTypographicSymbols font,
which comes with WordPerfect, and Word is substituting a different font
because your computer does not have the WP font installed.
