Copy Rows in Excel XP

When copy row from one spreadsheet to another the forumlas
in the row such as Sum at the end disappear and only the
value is pasted. This does not happen when copying within
the same spreadsheet. Copying within same spreadsheet
gives you option to paste special and pick whether to use
the formula or not. Copy from one spreadsheet to another
will not let you even have the option to paste special.
Any ideas on how to correct this?
