copying graphics from word 2007

I have a client that e-mails me Word 2003 docs with imbeded images. I need
to copy those images and paste them into a graphics editor. When I try to
paste I get "Cannot retrieve information from clipboard" or something like
that. I have tried saving the document as .docx and in compatability mode.
I have tried pasting into 2 different graphics editors with the same
results.

Is there a fix for this? It is becoming a real pain.

Thanks

My first guess would be that you are double-clicking the attachment icon in
the email & trying to copy the image you see there... which isn't really
there:) If that's the case, try saving the attachment to your hard drive,
open that copy & see how you make out.

Otherwise, more specific info would be quite helpful: What - exactly - does
the error message state?... "Something like that" leaves too much room for
variation:) What kind of images (file format)? How is the client "embedding"
them? What "graphics editors" are you using?

I still use 2000.... but have you considered saving the Word doc as a web
page. That should split out any graphics into individual files.
