Copying text from Word

What's the best way to receive text for inclusion in a FP page. Often, when
I copy and paste from a Word document, the formatting doesn't "carry over"
to the FP page. Sometimes H1 and H2 tags get carried over, messing
everything up.

It's a lot of effort to "un-format" all the extraneous formatting from Word.
One approach would be save the Word doc as a TXT file, to remove most of the
formatting, then to copy and paste from the TXT doc into FP. Then look at
the Word doc to see the formatting approach that's desired.

What's the best way to brings "stuff" to a FP page?

I open a page in FrontPage, then use Windows Explorer to drag the document
straight onto the page.

When I try to open a .doc file with Front Page 2003, FP opens, but then Word
opens and the document actually goes into Word. Thus the "Remove Formatting"
command of FP is not available. Is there a way to prevent Word from taking
control?

May not be a best way, but works fine for me. I save the Word file as a text
file. Then I open it with Notepad and save it again as a Plain Text file. Then
I open it and Select All, then copy and paste into FP. It's clean and you add
the formatting you want there.

In FP Tools Options unselect the last 2 options under General Startup (related to FP as a default editor)

I made that change....both are unselected...but I'm still having a problem.
When I right-click a .doc file and "open with" FP, FP opens but then Word
opens on top of FP and the doc file is brought into Word, not FP.
