Correctness of Portfolio Analyzer data ??

Hi all
I’m using Project Professional 2003 & Project Web Access 2003. I’m facing
a problem regarding Portfolio analyzer data. The Portfolio analyzer is not
showing proper data for Work, Actual Work, and Baseline Work for projects
plans. As still data is available & display in project central page (Project
Web Access) and in Project Professional but portfolio display as zero (but
not for all project plans, only few of them) means some of project data is
missing and display as zero.

I don’t know what is happening because Project plans updating properly,
resources can log their efforts properly & their efforts are updated properly
in project plan.
OLAP cube is scheduled to build at 1:00 AM morning and its updated
successfully on daily basis.

Please suggest what to do so that we use correct data for our analysis
purpose.

Are you absolutly certain that after resources log their effoerts, the
PM accepts their time and "Rebublishes" the plan. Does the view from
within Project Center in PWA match the MS Proejct file?

date to latest project end date?

and the latest project finish date" and in Date range for resource
availability is

Use the following date range for retrieving resource availability
information
The next 2 months
The past 3 months

I think we need to look for some type of corruption in the plans or bad data
that's causing the OLAP cube build to not inlcude the data. You can try
saving as XML and reimporting the troublesome projects. You should also look
for non-alphanumeric characters other than underscores in the project names
and resource names first, as something as simple as an "&" ampersand in the
project name can cause this.

I periodically have the same problem and currently have an open ticket with
Microsoft regarding this issue. Here's what I do. It doesn't always work,
but a lot of the times it does...
1. Install the "View Populator" tool

2. Truncate Views and Cube tables for project dB

3. Run View Populator tool.

4. Reload the Cube.

I also periodically run the sp_update stats query once or twice a week to
keep Portfolio Analyzer running smoothly otherwise I have slowness issues.

Great suggestions, thanks for sharing. If you're using SQL 2005, you should
install SP3, which will help you with your cube build issues as well.
