corrupt in 2003 but not in 2000

I have a document that is corrupt when I try and open it in Word 2003 but it
opens fine in Word 2000. Can anyone tell me why? and how would be the best
way to fix the problem? I am currently going through the suggestions here
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm but I can't find any help
on why it would be different between 2000 and 2003.

I have found that saving it as a web page and then saving back as a word doc
does let me open it but it messes up the margins down one side. I don't
think this will be an acceptable answer for my users though who need to know
why it's happening and how to stop it happening before I can move them all
over to Office 2003. Any help greatly appreciated.....
