corrupt word files

T

Terrill

Using Word 2002. Files created/saved will be fine for several days then when
re-opened the file only displays small squares. 1000's of them. A once single
page letter will now be 14 pages of small squares. <argh>
I spent several hours on the phone with MS Tech support. The only resolve
was to rename msscan32.dll to msscan32.old and restart word. I have done this
on both computers running Word 2002. files created after this was done are
still getting corrupted.
Are they really corrupted or bad? Or is Word having the problem. I have run
Virus Scan with nothing found.

Anyone have any ideas?
do I need to reinstall Word?

Thanks
