Countif based on background

I know I have seen this on here before, I may have even
posted it myself before. But I can't seem to find it now.
I want to do a countif statement based on cells that have
a red background color. Can anyone help?

Learn to use Google Groups search.

In this case, enter the words

sum background color

in the 'with all of the words' field, *excel* in the 'Return onl
messages from the newsgroup' field, and click the Google Search button
The query url would look like

http://tinyurl.com/3jj7x

and you'd see ca. 270 hits

One additional note. I think that you have to save the
function in a module not a worksheet. It may be itutive to
others, but took me a while to figure that out.
