Help. How do I create maybe 10 different mailing labels. I have the
addresses and do not want to first create a database. Should be simple,
but
neither I nor members of th eoffice can do this. We have gone to the
Antiques typewriters. Instructions ini Help do not work.
If you want to do it the hard way, in Word 2003:
Tools, Envelopes and Labels and then the Label tab.
Click Options button and select the label type you are using such as
Avery 8160 for inkjets. The label type list options for other than Avery
Standard {you did not say what you are using}. Also, other brands of labels
will likely list the corresponding Avery Standard label number on the
package. Then click OK.
Click the New Document button.
You now have a table in Word 2003 formatted for the label you are using.
Just type the information in the first label and tab to next label and do
the same.
Prior version of Word are similar {you did not say what application you are
using}.
Most label manufacturers and printer manufacturers do not recommend printing
a label sheet more than once. If you print a few labels, remove them and
re-use the sheet there is a small possibility that residue glue could damage
the printer. I have seen some Avery multiple print sheets, but have not
tried them.
The easy way is to create a spread sheet in Excel or a database in Access
and merge the information on the labels.
If you go to Avery. com {
http://www.avery.com/index.html } you can find out
what types of labels are available from Avery. Others have similar. You can
also download a free Avery Wizard for your version of Word which may be
easier for you to use with Excel or Access data than Word Mail Merge. They
also offer a free standalone label program.
