Create new publication from existing

Hi,
where is the ability to create new publication from existing file in 2007
like it was in 2003?

Not sure I understand the question. All the options are on the task pane when
you open Publisher. I think you want to click "Apply a Template..."

In older versions if you went to file, new, all the templates would open. In
2007 there is an "Apply a Template" button on the task pane when you open
Publisher.

If I read you right you're looking for the "From existing publication..."
option which appeared on the New Publication Task Pane and allowed for
creating a new file from an existing file as though it were a template.
Unfortunately, 2007 has revamped the Task Panes & moved the new pub options
to the Getting Started Window (which has *more* than enough available space
to include the option but *doesn't*) so that makes for a new can of worms:)

Go into the Open File dialog & navigate to the desired pub file, Right-Click
it & choose New from the contextual menu.

You might also consider using the Help menu>Contact Us to send feedback to
MS if you would like to have the feature "relocated" to a more convenient
spot.

You are correct, Bob... I so seldom use that feature I had forgotten it was part
of Publisher.

Hi Mary -

Unfortunately I have to teach people about a lot of the Office features
regardless of whether I actually _use_ them, myself - even the ones for
which there are preferable alternatives as well as those I *know* will
eventually blow up in their faces:)

Hi all,
thank you for your responses, the function I'm looking for is that one
which CyberTaz wrote about. I used it time to time and it's a pitty it is
not included in 2007, although there is such huge amount of space... :)
And thanks for the tip with context menu.
