Creating a picture in WORD using a DDE link

I am trying to create a picture in word using a DDE link. I can correctly
create the links for text, but when I try to create a link for a graphic, I
just get the filename. I have found the switches to change the text to a
picture \p, but I'm still not getting the Picture. I'm using WORD 2003, doing
a paste special, paste link, unformatted text. THen I toggle the field code
and change the switch to \p. What I am doing wrong? Or is there another step
that I am missing?
