creating multiple presentations from one slide show

Hi,

I would love to know if there is a way to create multiple versions of a
slide show. I understand that users can 'hide' slides. However, what if you
have 7 different slide shows that use a lot of the same information
throughout? In FrameMaker, we have conditional text which helps us do
multiple versions from one source file. Is there a Powerpoint Plug-in or some
functionality that can help us accomplish the same thing? It would be so much
easier if I didn't have to do 7 sets of the same slides with subtle slide
variations...

Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Pw,
Have you looked into the possibility of using custom shows?
Say you have a presentation of 100 slides and sometimes you need to show
only 50 or 60 off them. Well put those slides in a custom show using Slide
show - custom shows - new - give the child a name - select your slides - hit
OK and close. Go to Slide show - set-up show - click the radio button next
to custom shows and choose the one you want to use. If you want you can
select a custom show will your presentation is running, just right click,
choose custom shows and click the one you want to use.

Second possibility is to use Insert - slides from files - in a new
presentation browse to your mother presentation and choose the slides you
want to insert. The dialog will stay open and you may choose from several if
that suits you.
It is quite quick to perform this, just try it.

Thanks, Luc! I think the Custom show option may work for us. I really
appreciate your help!
