Creating or Replying to messages

When I create or reply to a new message, sometimes the
message appears minimized in the task bar. I have to
minimize outlook to start typing my reply on the new
window. this happens at least once a day and is
frustrating the rest of my staff. I'm running XP pro and
office 2003 (outlook 2003). Any help would be
appreciated.
