Critical Path Missing

Do you have the Gantt chart formatting set to show the critical tasks in a
distinctive colour? What do you see in the network diagram?

Tasks with zero slack are not shown as on the critical
path

Are you looking at "Free Slack" or "Total Slack"? A task can have no "Free
Slack" but still not be on the Critical Path.

ie. 3 1 day tasks have to be done in a 5 day period. Logic says task 2
follows task 1 and task 3 follows task 2. So when the programme is first put
together task 1 starts on Monday with the idea being task 3 finishes on
Wednesday. Task's 1 and 2 will have no "Free Slack" but task 3 will have 2
days "Free Slack". All tasks will have 2 days "Total Slack".

"Total Slack" is what defines the Critical Path of the Programme.

Hope this helps

Richard
