Cross Tab Resoureces in Task Usage View

Is there a way to show resources in columns for a specific period, similar to
a pivot table in Excel.

We use spreadsheets now to parse & assign effort to a resource for each
task. The rows are tasks (sub-tasks & subtotals), and the columns are
resources by month.

Well, no and yes. No it can't be done directly - the closest you can get
is to put each resource's name (or other identifier) into a spare field
and then include those fields as columns in a view. However, by
exporting the data to Excel, either via the "analyze timescaled data in
Excel" utility/add-in, or a custom VBA macro, Project data can be
exported to Excel and formatted in any way desired.
