Ctrl+S save shortcut inserts or deletes cells instead of saving

Hello,

Sometimes when I press Ctrl+S to save a document in Excel 2007, the program
opens either the Insert cells or Delete cells dialog instead of saving the
file. I've heard that this is a common error but since I've already
reinstalled and fully patched Excel as well as installed the associated
hotfix without any luck I find myself in need of direct support. How can I
fix the problem and get Excel to save the current document when I press
Ctrl+S?

Maybe there is a problem with your keyboard or keyboard settings?
Does it help to log on as a different user?

As the problem exists in Excel 07 only (all other applications including the
remaining Office programs function correctly). Furthermore, I've experienced
the error with different keyboards and with the specific drivers both enabled
and disabled. Also, the problem has been reported by other Excel users.
Therefore, it is bound to be caused by a flaw in Excel.

Hi Toke,
Also, the problem has been reported by other Excel users.
Therefore, it is bound to be caused by a flaw in Excel.

Makes sense. But does the problem go away if you log on as a different user on
the same system?
